Catch up with the results of Division One League of Legends' quarterfinal and semifinal playoffs before finals!
Playoffs have started in Division One League of Legends, and Finals are already coming up soon. Here is a recap of the quarterfinals and semifinals matches to be prepared.
Quarterfinal
Stony Brook VS Ohio State
Starting game 1, Stony Brook got first blood as a strong contender. Ohio State was here to prove that was just luck. A failed team fight for Stony Brook led to all 3 void grubs going to Ohio State and, soon, 1st drake as well. OSU 5fire even scored a nice triple kill. Rift herald, 2nd and 3rd drake, and Baron went to Ohio State. Stony Brook was too far behind in scaling to do anything to stop it with players like SBU DancingwiththeBL on Gwen having lost their lane fight. An Ace at nexus gave Ohio State the victory. Game 2 went in a similar fashion except Stony Brook was able to steal 1 void grub and even the kill score, 5-5. Ohio State nailing an Ace at the team fight for first drake spelled their win. Every other objective went to them. Stony Brook’s health bars were absolutely melted. Ohio State secured their place in Semifinals.
Stony Brook is eliminated from playoffs, and Ohio State heads to Semifinals in Division One League of Legends.

St. Clair VS Utah
Utah showed that they were meant to make Division One’s quarterfinals in game 1. They held a tied kill score up to 7-7 before, unlike people expected, scaling past St. Clair with only 2 void grubs caught. Top lane tower fell in Utah’s favor and bot lane tower fell in St. Clair’s favor at the same time. In a short time frame, Utah got 3 Ace’s in big team fights. This opened the door for them to confidently get 3rd and 4th drakes and Baron. Utah closed out game 1 with a 4th Ace. After this, things go downhill for them. Game 2 was fraught with misplays from Utah as St. Clair quickly got a 7-1 kill-score lead and the 1st drake. All 3 void grubs did go to Utah, but that’s it. St. Clair’s bot laners found an opening to push toward base. All of the pieces eventually fell apart on Utah’s defense as the game ended with a 41-15 kill score for St. Clair’s win. Game 3 had more of a struggle in top lane for Utah instead of bot lane. SCC Ricky scaled massively as UTAH A_Narwh4l failed to keep up. He was too tanky and would 1v2 with ease. All of the objectives in the match went to St. Clair. The game ends with a St. Clair Ace.
Utah is eliminated from playoffs, and St. Clair heads to Semifinals in Division One League of Legends.

Maryville VS Ohio State
Game 1, unfortunately for Ohio State, went similarly to when Maryville faced a lot of teams in the regular season: a complete blowout. Ohio State had a strong 1-4 kill score lead with great scaling until the void grubs spawned. OSU Ruler got caught out going to the void grubs from top lane when the rest of his team was arriving from below. Maryville immediately pounced on him. A near Ace here gave them the advantage. Both void grubs and first drake went to Maryville. For the rest of the game, Ohio State was consistently getting caught out alone by the prowling and growing Maryville. The rush to nexus ended with two Aces and a Maryville win. Game 2 wouldn’t quite go the same way. Ohio State, this time, kept their scaling advantage to mid-game with their bot laners taking down towers. OSU Chelouche was also a menace in team fights. Void grubs, 2nd and 3rd drakes went to them. Still, Maryville never gave up. MU Crimson was a powerful opponent from Ohio State’s weakened top lane battle. He focused on towers, needing multiple opponents to take him down. It helped the rest of his team scale up to Ohio State’s power as they managed to catch rift herald and soon even Baron. Maryville closed out the game with a kill score deficit, despite Ohio State’s strong competition.
Ohio State is eliminated from playoffs, and Maryville heads to the Fall Split Finals in Division One League of Legends.

Winthrop VS St. Clair
Winthrop and St. Clair started game 1 with a close number of objectives. Winthrop had 1st drake and 1 void grub; St. Clair snatched 2nd drake and 2 void grubs. However, the scale difference showed its face pretty quickly. Being aggressive in the early game was Winthrop’s specialty. They became too strong for St. Clair to be able to challenge them. WU Mobility, with the help of his team, landed an Ace at nexus with a final kill score of 33-6 and a 15k gold difference. Game 2 had the same aggression in the bot lane as St. Clair struggled under tower. Still, St. Clair secured 1st drake and all 3 void grubs. Winthrop picked up the pace as 2nd drake went to them and a huge team fight resulted in a Winthrop Ace. It was the scaling they needed to finish the game. The 3rd drake and a rift herald later, Winthrop entered base with two Aces and closed out the game.
St. Clair is eliminated from playoffs, and Winthrop heads to the Fall Split Finals in Division One League of Legends.
