Maryville Wins Division ONE's League of Legends and VALORANT championships in the Spring Split.
The Spring Split of Division ONE’s League of Legends and VALORANT season has come to an end with Maryville taking home both trophies, finishing with an undefeated 7–0 record! Both teams went up against Winthrop last weekend. The League of Legends team won a clean 3–0 sweep, and the VALORANT team won a tough 3–2 battle. With their win in the Fall Split, Maryville has become Division ONE’s 2025-2026 season champions.
League of Legends
Now that this tournament is done and we won it, we still have to compete in another tournament in NACL. After that, there will be time to do other things like solo-queuing.
Keii, Maryville's Top Lane PlayerMaryville shined in the first and last games of this best-of-five matchup, each taking 25 minutes or less to complete. This outcome may have been unexpected given their 2–1 results against Winthrop in both the Spring and Fall Split. However, the Fall Split Finals ended with the same score. This Spring Split Finals had an intense Game 2 as Winthrop sought to take a point for themselves. Despite only having one Voidgrub and two Drakes by the end of the game, Winthrop was only 5k gold behind Maryville, catching up 19 minutes in. WU Wilson on Wukong was a damaging menace, and WU Mobility got the most kills in the game. Maryville was able to find their footing and close out the game.
Congratulations to Maryville’s League of Legends team of Keii, Yuuji, Spirax, ScaryJerry, and Obstinatus.

VALORANT
The biggest shoutout is for the guy, GEEZA…He was in a clutch there, 1v3. We knew he was gonna win that. As soon as that happened, I knew we were going to win the game.
Wildfire, Maryville's Initiator PlayerThis best-of-five matchup featured all five maps, played in order: Haven, Bind, Split, Corrode, then Abyss. Winthrop came out swinging, nearly securing a 3–0 win. The first two games were 4–13 and 2–13 in Winthrop’s favor, and it seemed to spook Maryville. Maryville flipped the scales in game three with a 13–10 win. This led to them dominating the next two games to prevent the series from staying close. The turnaround was impressive. To get a sense of this, game four on Corrode resulted in Maryville winning every round they lost the opening fight.
Congratulations to Maryville’s Valorant team of Geeza, Shondex, Ec1s, Wildfire, Renz, and Ange.

Congratulations to Maryville and their dominant performance during Division ONE’s Spring Split. They have come out on top against competitors that have grown since the Fall Split to show why Maryville is a top collegiate esports university. It will be exciting to see if they return to defend their title. Division ONE returns this Fall for a new round of competitions.
